Ondra Repeats Sharma’s First Round, First Minute 9b

Adam Ondra has done the second ascent of First Round, First Minute at Margalef, Spain. The route was redpointed in April 2011 by Chris Sharma, and was featured in a Big Up video (see below). Although Sharma did not grade the route, Ondra said it was 9b (5.15b).
Ondra had tried the route at various times between 2011 and 2013, but this time he projected it, spending about a week in Margalef before redpointing. The route is only 25 moves long and intensely bouldery. “It’s pretty short or pretty long it just depends on how long you manage to stay on!” Ondra told “It definitely felt like a route, with the crux at the very top.
